What began as a dream in Belgrano is today a regional educational community. Seventy years of history, four campuses, and the same pioneering spirit.

A Legacy of Vision

The story of St. Catherine’s Moorlands School is one of constant evolution, rooted in a steadfast commitment to excellence. What began in 1956 as a visionary project in Belgrano has grown into a vibrant regional educational community, defined by its pioneering spirit and the pursuit of truth and loyalty—Veritas et Fidelitas.

This timeline is a journey through the innovations and traditions that empower our students to lead with integrity in an ever-changing world.

The Foundation

St. Catherine's School was established in Belgrano R, founded by Mrs Mabel Mazzini (MBE) with a visionary approach to women's education. The school opened on 30th April with 75 students and 10 teachers

The Spirit

St. Catherine's Club was created, cementing our passion for hockey and community life. This year also marked the first hockey tour to Europe and the inauguration of "El Campito" (now the Tortuguitas site).

IB Pioneers

We marked a milestone by becoming the first school in Argentina to implement the International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma Programme), with the first 11 students sitting exams shortly after.

Expansion North

Moorlands School was founded in Tortuguitas with 60 students, becoming a pioneer in bilingual education in the Northern Suburbs.

L' Alliance

French language exams of the French government, which would then become the DELF exams, are held for the first time in L' Alliance Française.

Triple IB Certification

SCMS became the first school in Argentina to implement all three IB programmes (PYP, MYP, and Diploma), reinforcing its global academic leadership.

The Field

The Club inaugurated the first synthetic hockey pitch in Argentina, setting a standard for sports excellence.

Co-Education

St. Catherine's (Belgrano) transitioned into a co-educational school, starting with K5 and the first three years of Primary

One Family

Belgrano and Tortuguitas were consolidated under the name St. Catherine's Moorlands School (SCMS), uniting strengths and traditions.

Global Readiness

Introduction of Mandarin Chinese and a cutting-edge coding curriculum developed alongside Digital House.

Pedagogical Innovation

Initiation of a comprehensive educational transformation process led by Montserrat del Pozo, including leadership training in Spain.

Digital Transformation

The school accelerated its EdTech integration, becoming a Google Reference School (the 7th in Argentina) and the first to implement the Power MBA's "Future Leaders" programme

Excellence & Wellbeing

SCMS earned the "Great Place to Study" certification (the first in the region) and the Growth Road certification

Regional Horizons

Expansion into Uruguay, with a focus on "Forest School" pedagogy and innovative "Fly & Flow" learning spaces.

The Next Step

Launch of the Pilar project, designed for global families seeking nature-integrated excellence.

Veritas et Fidelitas

Our holistic model is built upon human values, educational excellence, and a global mindset. We believe in education for wellbeing and solidarity.

We facilitate the Institutional Solidarity Programme (PSI) and retreats led by our Guidance Team, alongside optional spiritual formation, including Catechesis and preparation for the Sacraments.

Furthermore, we promote emotional literacy, mindfulness, and the development of interpersonal skills.

Continuing the Legacy

Today, under the leadership of Mabel María Mazzini, SCMG continues to evolve, integrating technology and emotional wellbeing without losing the essence that defined our origins.
